  • I want to call specific attention to this photo by editor Peter Day.

    While neither of us would describe ourselves as professional photojournalists (just look at some of the photos I’ve ended up linking here), this one is just world-class. In one photo, you get the whole story. SOMETHING has gone wrong, and if you live in the High Desert, you immediately realize that we’re not looking at a place people normally kayak — the flooding had turned a roadway (Rock Springs Road) into rapids for a time. Great stuff. I wish I took photos like this.
