Good free music at iTunes

After a few “eh” weeks, iTunes has two really good free songs this week, of wildly divergent sorts.

Lori McKenna’s “Mr. Sunshine” is as straight-forward as country pop gets, while critical darlings The Magic Numbers’ “Love Me Like You Do” is fun alterna-pop.

Both are free through sometime on February 6, so grab ‘em sooner rather than later.

  • Wait, that’s not totally true. iTunes had another decent song for free recently: Jace Everett’s “Bad Things” is a great smoky single. It’s theoretically country music, but it’s really in the same booze-soaked territory as the Allman Brothers or Steve Earle.
