A dwarf drinks beer or liquor as soon as they are weaned. Dwarven children's beer is a heavily watered down version of the same ales that adults drink, usually fortified with milk or fruits.

Some non-dwarves cannot drink any dwarven beer stronger than children's beer, which is of course a source of great amusement to the dwarves.
