Geography
The village is named for the blackberry bushes that cover the small hill it sits atop. The bushes are not plentiful enough that blackberries can be exported, but in season, visitors will find them incorporated into pie or flavoring alcoholic drinks, including the locally made wine.
With the dangers posed by Kem to the south and the strange and dangerous things that sometimes come northwards, the village is surrounded by a deep ditch and a 15-foot wall and a small force of ducal soldiers. Indeed, Blackberry Ridge is the staging area for troops serving along the wall to the south.
A communal well sits in the center of town.
Residents
Brombeere is a common last name for residents of Blackberry Ridge and was the name of the Prustan chief who first settled the community, long before the coming of the Tarsisian Empire.
