Blood Roast

A holiday occuring on the first two days of Birth.
During Blood Roast, a wide variety of evil humanoids set out to slay any form of living, edible creatures that can be found over a duration of one night. The following morning the bodies of these creatures are stripped clean of flesh, hair, feathers, and so forth and the meat is dumped into an enormous cauldron. Wild vegetation is added and the contents are boiled up into a great stew. The night following the vile, bloody hunt, the contents of the stew are eaten as the humanoids sit around telling ghastly stories to one another.
- In Midwood, this custom used to be practiced by the Green Mountain Kobolds, who would attempt to steal babies from the human settlements for a stew. After Gax departed, the custom fell into disuse, but the residents are worried the new kobold leader may want to start it up again.
- The Black Reaver goblins, when they were in the area, also used to practice this custom during Gax's reign under Green Mountain. As with the kobolds, the new leadership of the band may lead to the return of this tradition.
- In IA 721, the town of Goblin Falls suffered a serious attack during Blood Roast: A force of trolls, giants, ogres and wolves attacked the town. They were repelled, but at the cost of many lives lost.
