Green Mountain Kobolds

Originally brought to Green Mountain hundreds of years ago, when the green dragon Gax conquered the dwarven fortress of Glangirn and the surrounding Tulgey Wood, the Green Mountain Kobolds were her servants, her guards and playthings. Once the mountain had been conquered, Gax evicted the kobolds from the dwarf halls, and commanded them to take up residence nearby. They dug into the high meadows surrounding the glacier lake that served as the front door to Glangirn, eventually spreading out below the earth in a wide series of tunnels.
Ten years ago, Gax left by daylight, when most of the kobolds were inside, hiding from the sun, and has not returned. Where she went, and why, no one knows, nor do they know if she is alive or dead. Recently, a new king has been taken over the tribe, the first since Gax's departure. Known as The Dragonlord, he is a member of the Children of Tiamat faction and is scheming against Midwood and Wit's End.
Other known factions include the Blackbones, traditionalists who worship Kurtulmak and a small cult that believes Gax has ascended to godhood.
The raiding that used to occure against Maidensbridge during Gax's time has been over for a decade, although the residents of the village are slow to forget it and slow to trust these new, more mercantile-minded kobolds. And with the rise of a new leader for the tribe, there is a growing consensus at the Cat & the Fiddle that things might take a turn for the worse again. Most infamously, the tribe used to attempt to steal babies from Maidensbridge and Foxton on Moss for special feasts, and parents now hold their infants and look upon Green Mountain with worry.
