A small wood surrounding Midwood Hall, the Hartwood is a game preserve only the baron and his invited guests may hunt. Poaching is a hanging offense.

As the name suggests, the Hartwood teems with deer. Recently, the peasants in neighboring Middleborough have reported seeing a bird, seemingly made out of gold, flying through the Hartwood.
