Hotash Mountains

A high volcanic mountain range running down the western side of the Prustan Peninsula. The mountains are home to the Grailwarden dwarves as well as giants, goblins, kobolds and more. The highest peaks of the range are always covered in snow.
Coal is common in the mountains, among other minerals (including salt), and coal has been a cornerstone of Grailwarden industrialization. The dwarves have also turned most of the active volcanos into mountainholds, where they use the free source of heat, sometimes with the aid of glacial lakes, to create energy for their cities. At its height, Glangirn was run on steampower, for instance.
Notable locations
- The Low Road has been carved and blasted through the middle of the mountains, running east to west from Grail Keep to Vidor on the coast of the Southern Sea. The heliograph lines run along the road.
- The caverns of Quasqueton supposedly can be found somewhere in the northern reaches of the mountain range.
- The Barony of Midwood can be found in the southeast portion of the mountains, just north of Kem.
- The Great Tower stands at the southern-most tip of the mountains, where they meet the gray sands of Kem.
